  1. Hi Orwell,
    Please, consider to make the Installer (not portable)
    remember the Install Directory with this small change:

    to devcppnocompiler.nsi
    and devcppmingw64.nsi

    add this in line 21 (after the "InstallDir ..." line) to both .nsi files:
    InstallDirRegKey HKLM "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Dev-C++" "InstallLocation"

    In line 101, add this line to both .nsi files:
    WriteRegStr HKLM "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Dev-C++" "InstallLocation" "$INSTDIR"

    And the only thing left is to Test it:
    try to install to a different directory, and run it again to see if it remembers :)
    --------
    Another thing: I've tried to compile a 32-bit-release version of LangCheck, in Windows 7 works well, but in Windows XP it shows an empty window (no controls in it)... very weird.
    --------

    Thank you for keeping alive the Dev-C++ project!!!
    See ya!

    PD: Sorry if my english is not very good :)

    1. Hello!

      I will look into the NSIS improvement line. Thank you for your input.

      In an attempt to fix your problems with LangCheck I will provide up to date executables in the Tools folder of SourceForge:
      https://sourceforge.net/projects/orwelldevcpp/files/Tools/

      You can find a precompiled version of LangCheck there.

  2. Hi there Orwell,

    I would like you to add a feature (which CodeBlocks already has) that when you double click on any word of your code it automatically highlights the same word in other parts of your code. I think it really is very useful and is the reason why I still prefer CB over Dev-C++.

    Here I give you a screenshot: http://share.pho.to/95G7v

    I wait for you answer,

    Adrian.

  4. I have a problem during compilation and run of any program in Dev C++5.10, It says "[Error] iostream.h: No such file or directory" need help to get these directories. My system have 64bit windows 8 os. plz revert me as soon as possible.. Thanks..

    1. Hey there, actually the header file iostream.h was supposed to be used with the old version of C compilers like Turbo C. But now you straight away use just "iostream" and it should perfectly fine.

      Note: Similarly, clrscr() wont work in new version of compiler as well, instead try using system("cls")

  11. Thanks for you still release new Dev-C++. To report a bug: the debug function of this version and 5.9.x doesn't work. Dev-C++ would crash.

  13. These days I wanted to to see the assembly code of main.cpp compiled as 32-bit (TDM-GCC 4.8.1. 32-bit Release).

    I chose Project Options (Ctrl+H) > Compiler > Output > Do not assemble but output assembler code (-S) > Yes.

    Instead of an .s file I got c:\program files\dev-cpp\mingw64\x86_6 4-w64-mingw32\bin\ld.exe maino: file format not recognized; treating as linker script.

  16. Hi Orwell, I'm testing version 5.11.
    Replace All button is still missing although it is reported in the Tracker as fixed.
    Can't Open two or more projects simultaneously, as Pawel stated earlier.
    Thanks for the great job.

  32. Hi guies. I've got a problem with dev-C++. Whenever i'm compiling the following code:
    #include
    using namespace std;
    int main ()
    {
    int num;
    cout << "enter a number " << endl;
    cin >> num;
    cout << num << endl;
    return 0;
    }
    then i get the error as follows, in cin line: 7 5 F:\studies\computer science\Programme File (casual)\firstprogramme.cpp [Error] no match for 'operator>>' (operand types are 'std::istream {aka std::basic_istream}' and 'int')
    please advice. I'm having difficulties in my 11th grade computer science practicals.
    Thanks.
